Sunday - Chicken and Leek Pie with a Puff Pastry Lid

Today has been a nice and relaxing Sunday, as they should be....in fact looking at my legs it seems I have been in my pj's all day!! (I have had a bath though with alot of Radox to help my aching muscles!).

We get married in September, and although some of the basics are in place, there is still alot to do. Today we made a good start on finalising guest lists, invites and photographers - I have also decided on the stag which needs some significant organising too!

In the week I bought a free range corn fed chicken, and although it was relatively expensive, it was really tasty and has supplied us with 2 big meals and our lunches for 3 days. One of the meals was tonight's chicken and leek pie with peas....it had a very impressive puff pastry lid and we finished it all! Fatties.

Wales Part 2 - Rugby, Football & Pies!

After an early run for me, we all settled down to watch Wales v France.....all I can say is BOO FRANCE!!!....Wales were very unlucky and it is a travesty that such a poor team have made the final. I predict a New Zealand walkover on Sunday!

We headed to the Trearddur Bay Hotel at 11.30, hoping that the Mighty Red Men could defeat Man Utd to make up for the disappointment of the earlier match.....in the end Utd were very lucky to scrape a 1-1 drawn but it was great to see Stevie G back in action!

I need to also mention that when we arrived at the hotel, it was full of Wales fans drowning their sorrows and singing rowdy songs. I am a little bit Welsh so I was safe, but they quickly spotted Frenchie as an Englishman and he got his very own song - very amusing!

There was no doubting where we were on Saturday morning
The table next to ours....champers, sambucas, lager - yuck!
Where we watched the match - recommended

After the match we all went for a stroll along the bay, which was really nice - photos on tomorrows post. Whist 3 of us watched the box and drank vino, Jo busied herself in the kitchen. She put her home cured salmon on crostini's with horseradish for starters, followed by a chicken and leek pie which was a great success!
