Wednesday - Riverford Halloumi with Roasted Vegetables

Since the winter has kicked in my running has gone to sh*t! Luckily I have Jo to keep me motivated, and she dragged me out for a jog tonight kicking and screaming! (well almost).....we went for a quick half an hour and it was good to get out, pleasant almost!.....I have a 10m run in the diary in December so hopefully I will be able to keep up the running so I can drag myself around before Christmas feasting kicks in.

Before we left, Jo put the vegetables in the oven and was able knock together the below with lovely halloumi and a minimum of fuss.........

Thursday Night - Abandoned and Late!

At the grand old age of 32, Joe has started to embrace nostalgia and the past, and tomorrow is attending his school's "Old Boys' Reunion".  I am fairly convinced this is just an excuse for Joe, Frenchie Dog Eyes, Josh etc.  to drink a lot (when I say fairly convinced, I mean I know this for a fact) but fair play to them for trying to put a grown up name on it.

So this means until he rolls home on Saturday afternoon with the hangover from hell, I am Joe-less for a couple of days.  Add to this working in Manchester and I'm feeling a little out of sorts (especially since my bloody train was late! Bastard Northern Rail!)

So having returned home at ten to nine tonight, it was a quick dinner of black pudding, halloumi and grilled vegetables.  A little eclectic, and for some reason I used the world's hottest chilli (not really, I'm being pathetic today).  Anyway I was quite a pleased with it - give black pudding and halloumi a try!

Wednesday Night - An eclectic mix - Halloumi Salad & Corn on the Cob

I admit the blog this week has been pretty dull so far (apart from Jo's dinners of course!), but we haven't done too much so far.....we are heading to the Wirral (my neck of the woods) to see friends and family, and we are both running the Hoylake 10k on sunday!! - hopefully there will be some better written content then..........today's dinner is below;

Saturday - Shooting, Pork Pies, Halloumi Salad & 40th Birthdays

Our generous and lovely mum (click to blog here) bought me and my bro (Dave Pilla) bought us a afternoon clay pigeon shooting at Coniston Hotel, which was a first for both of us. It was brilliant, but not something that I would so again as Dave is much better than me, and I hate to be beaten by him. He won 22 - 17.

Me with my special eye thing (I have funny vision according to Jim the instructor) and fetching ear plugs

Joe's scorecard - 17 - I was cheated
Dave's score card - 22 - he cheated ;o)
On the way home we stopped at Lishman's in Ilkley for a pork pie each - it was very good and possibly the best so far.
For dinner, we had halloumi salad for the first time, and it's something we would definitely have again.

Then, it was out into Chapel Allerton for a good friends 40th birthday celebrations. Wolf's day had started at 9am with the rugby and he and the hardcore didn't meet us until 7.30pm! - it had been quite the session that was still going when we left for home at 11pm.
